I'm Linda Li-Chee-Ming, the owner, designer and maker behind Wild Whimsy Woolies.
I love animals and hold degrees in Zoology and Biodiversity & Conservation.
After taking the scientific route in my post-secondary studies and working office jobs in the environmental sector, I wanted to find a hobby where I could get back to my creative side and make heartfelt handmade gifts for friends and my growing number of nieces and nephews. I decided to teach myself to needle felt because it used all natural materials and just required wool and some tiny barbed needles. I was amazed at the possibilities of creating anything from your imagination by just poking at wool. I fell in love with needle felting as soon as I started and it was something I seemed to pick up pretty naturally.
With the support and encouragement from loved ones, I decided to turn my hobby into a business in 2015 and created Wild Whimsy Woolies to share my little creatures with the rest of the world. I now enjoy running Wild Whimsy Woolies full-time. Taking inspiration from nature and biodiversity, I love to create cute and whimsical animals that I hope will put a smile on your face!
